بَابُ ذِكْرِ الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ وَمَا يُجْزِي فِيهِمَا
Chapter on mentioning bowing and prostration and what suffices in them
Hadith 1302
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ ، ثنا أَبُو شَيْبَةَ ، ثنا أَبُو غَسَّانَ ، ثنا جَعْفَرٌ الأَحْمَرُ ، عَنْ حَارِثَةَ ، عَنْ عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا سَجَدَ اسْتَقْبَلَ بِأَصَابِعِهِ الْقِبْلَةَ " .
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would go into prostration, the direction of his fingers would be towards the Qiblah.
Hadith 1303
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقَاضِي ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ أَصْبَغَ بْنِ الْفَرَجِ ، ثنا أبِي ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الدَّرَاوَرْدِيُّ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ إِذَا سَجَدَ يَضَعُ يَدَيْهِ قَبْلَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) narrates: When the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) would go into prostration, he would place both hands on his knees.
Hadith 1304
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، ثنا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، ثنا مَرْوَانُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الأَعْرَجِ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا سَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَضَعْ يَدَيْهِ قَبْلَ رِجْلَيْهِ وَلا يَبْرُكْ بُرُوكَ الْبَعِيرِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a person goes into prostration, he should place his hands before his knees and he should not sit like a camel."
Hadith 1305
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، ثنا أَبُو ثَابِتٍ مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بِإِسْنَادِهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا سَجَدَ أَحَدُكُمْ فَلْيَضَعْ يَدَيْهِ قَبْلَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ ، وَلا يَبْرُكْ بُرُوكَ الْجَمَلِ " .
This statement is also narrated with another chain: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "When a person goes into prostration, he should place both his hands before his knees and should not sit like a camel."
Hadith 1306
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ عَيَّاشٍ ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، ثنا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَوْنٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ مُحَمَّدٌ : " إِذَا قَالَ الإِمَامُ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، قَالَ مَنْ خَلْفَهُ : سَمِعَ اللَّهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ ، اللَّهُمَّ رَبَّنَا لَكَ الْحَمْدُ " .
In another narration, there is this addition: When the Imam says "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah," the person behind should recite: "Sami' Allahu liman hamidah, Allahumma Rabbana lakal hamd." Allah has heard the praise of the one who praised Him, "O Allah! O our Lord! All praise is exclusively for You."
Hadith 1307
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ ، ثنا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، ثنا يَزِيدُ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى الأَزْدِيُّ ، ثنا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أنا شَرِيكٌ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ وَائِلِ بْنِ حُجْرٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِذَا يَسْجُدُ تَقَعُ رُكْبَتَاهُ قَبْلَ يَدَيْهِ ، وَإِذَا رَفَعَ رَفَعَ يَدَيْهِ قَبْلَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ " . وَقَالَ ابْنُ أَبِي دَاوُدَ : " وَوَضَعَ رُكْبَتَيْهِ قَبْلَ يَدَيْهِ " . تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ يَزِيدُ ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ ، وَلَمْ يُحَدِّثْ بِهِ عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ كُلَيْبٍ ، غَيْرُ شَرِيكٍ ، وَشَرِيكٌ لَيْسَ بِالْقَوِيِّ ، فِيمَا يَتَفَرَّدُ بِهِ . وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.
Sayyiduna Wa'il bin Hujr (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would go into prostration, he would place both his knees before his hands, and when he would rise, he would lift his hands before his knees. Another narrator has transmitted these words: He would place both his knees before his hands. In narrating this report, the narrator Yazid is unique; he narrated it from Shareek, and this narrator is not reliable.
Hadith 1308
حَدَّثَنَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ الصَّفَّارُ ، ثنا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، ثنا الْعَلاءُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْعَطَّارُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصُ بْنُ غِيَاثٍ ، عَنْ عَاصِمٍ الأَحْوَلِ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : " رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَبَّرَ حَتَّى حَاذَى بِإِبْهَامَيْهِ أُذُنَيْهِ ، ثُمَّ رَكَعَ حَتَّى اسْتَقَرَّ كُلُّ مَفْصِلٍ مِنْهُ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ ، ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ حَتَّى اسْتَقَرَّ كُلُّ مَفْصِلٍ مِنْهُ فِي مَوْضِعِهِ ، ثُمَّ انْحَطَّ بِالتَّكْبِيرِ فَسَبَقَتْ رُكْبَتَاهُ يَدَيْهِ " . تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ الْعَلاءُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، عَنْ حَفْصٍ بِهَذَا الإِسْنَادِ . وَاللَّهُ أَعْلَمُ.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I remember this about the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him): He said the takbeer, raising both his thumbs up to his ears, then he bowed for ruku‘ until every joint of his body settled in its place. Then he raised his blessed head until every joint returned to its place. Then, while saying the takbeer, he went down (for sujood), and he placed both his knees on the ground before his hands. In narrating this report, Al-‘Ala bin Isma‘il is unique; and Allah knows best.
