Amr bin Shu'aib narrates from his father, from his grandfather: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "Two people or more constitute a congregation (i.e., they should perform the prayer in congregation)."

Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "No villager, non-Arab, or underage boy should stand in the first row."

Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "It is included in the rulings of the Sunnah that when the Imam says the salam (ending the prayer), then the person should not perform the voluntary (nafl) prayers at the same place where he offered the obligatory prayer; rather, he should move a little to one side or engage in some conversation in between, and then perform the voluntary prayers."
