بَابٌ فِي صِفَةِ صَلَاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الْآخِرَةِ
Chapter on the description of the last Isha prayer
Hadith 1058
حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الأَعْلَى بْنُ حَمَّادٍ ، ثنا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ سَالِمٍ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ بْنِ بَشِيرٍ ، قَالَ : " إِنِّي لأَعْلَمُ النَّاسِ بِوَقْتِ هَذِهِ الصَّلاةِ ، صَلاةِ الْعِشَاءِ الآخِرَةِ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يُصَلِّيهَا لِسُقُوطِ الْقَمَرِ لِثَالِثَةٍ " .
Sayyiduna Nu’man bin Bashir (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: “I have the most knowledge regarding this, that is, about the ‘Isha prayer. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to offer it when the third night’s moon would set.”
Hadith 1059
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ الدَّقِيقِيُّ ، نا يَزِيدُ بْنُ هَارُونَ ، أنا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، بِإِسْنَادِهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، نَحْوَهُ ، إِلا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لَيْلَةٌ ثَالِثَةٌ أَوْ رَابِعَةٌ - شَكَّ شُعْبَةُ - " ، وَرَوَاهُ هُشَيْمٌ ، وَرَقَبَةُ ، وَسُفْيَانُ بْنُ حُسَيْنٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي بِشْرٍ ، عَنْ حَبِيبٍ ، عَنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، وَقَالُوا : " لَيْلَةٌ ثَالِثَةٌ " وَلَمْ يَذْكُرُوا : بَشِيرًا.
This same narration is also transmitted with another chain regarding the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), however, in it are the words: (the narrator is in doubt) the crescent of the third night or the crescent of the fourth night (would set). Some other narrators have also transmitted it on the authority of Sayyiduna Nu'man (may Allah be pleased with him), and in it, they have narrated the words, "the crescent of the third night."
