Hadith 1054
حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ الشَّافِعِيُّ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ شَاذَانَ ، نا مُعَلَّى ، نا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ ثَوْرِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ مَكْحُولٍ ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ ، وَشَدَّادِ بْنِ أَوْسٍ ، قَالا : " الشَّفَقُ شَفَقَانِ : الْحُمْرَةُ وَالْبَيَاضُ فَإِذَا غَابَتِ الْحُمْرَةُ حَلَّتِ الصَّلاةُ ، وَالْفَجْرُ فَجْرَانِ : الْمُسْتَطِيلُ وَالْمُعْتَرِضُ فَإِذَا انْصَدَعَ الْمُعْتَرِضُ حَلَّتِ الصَّلاةُ " .
Sayyiduna Ubadah bin Samit (may Allah be pleased with him) and Sayyiduna Shaddad bin Aws (may Allah be pleased with him), both of these companions narrate: "There are two types of twilight (shafaq): the red one and the white one. When the red twilight disappears, then the time for prayer begins. Similarly, there are two types of true dawn (subh sadiq): one that is vertical and one that is horizontal. When the horizontal one ends, then the time for prayer begins."
Hadith 1055
نا الْقَاضِي نا الْقَاضِي الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا عَبَّاسٌ الدُّورِيُّ ، نا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الزُّهْرِيُّ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ دِينَارٍ ، ثنا أَبُو الْفَضْلِ مَوْلَى طَلْحَةَ بْنِ عُمَرَ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي لَبِيبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " الشَّفَقُ الْحُمْرَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Shafaq refers to redness."
Hadith 1056
قَرَأْتُ فِي أَصْلِ كِتَابِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عَمْرِو بْنِ جَابِرٍ الرَّمْلِيِّ بِخَطِّهِ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الصَّمَدِ الطَّيَالِسِيُّ ، نا هَارُونُ بْنُ سُفْيَانَ ، ثنا عَتِيقُ بْنُ يَعْقُوبَ ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الشَّفَقُ الْحُمْرَةُ فَإِذَا غَابَ الشَّفَقُ وَجَبَتِ الصَّلاةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "By 'shafaq' is meant redness; when the shafaq disappears, the prayer becomes obligatory (i.e., its time begins)."
Hadith 1057
ثنا ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ الْحَسَّانِيُّ ، ثنا وَكِيعٌ ، ثنا الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " الشَّفَقُ الْحُمْرَةُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: "By 'shafaq' is meant redness."
