بَابُ الْمَاءِ الْمُسَخَّنِ
Heated Water
Hadith 85
نا نا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِدْرِيسُ بْنُ الْحَكَمِ ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ غُرَابٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَسْلَمَ مَوْلَى عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ كَانَ يُسَخَّنُ لَهُ مَاءٌ فِي قُمْقُمَةٍ وَيَغْتَسِلُ بِهِ " . هَذَا إِسْنَادٌ صَحِيحٌ.
Aslam, the freed slave of Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him), narrates: Water used to be heated for Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) in a pitcher, and he would perform ghusl (ritual bath) with that water. The chain of this hadith is "sahih" (authentic).
Hadith 86
نا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، وَآخَرُونَ قَالُوا : حَدَّثَنَا سَعْدَانُ بْنُ نَصْرٍ ، نا خَالِدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، نا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : دَخَلَ عَلَيَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ وَقَدْ سَخَّنْتُ مَاءً فِي الشَّمْسِ ، فَقَالَ : " لا تَفْعَلِي يَا حُمَيْرَا ، فَإِنَّهُ يُورِثُ الْبَرَصَ " . غَرِيبٌ جِدًّا ، خَالِدُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ مَتْرُوكٌ.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Once the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) came to me, and during that time I had heated some water in the sun. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: "O fair one! Do not do so, because as a result of this, leukoderma (vitiligo) can occur." This narration is extremely "gharib" (rare/strange), and its narrator Khalid bin Ismail is "matrook" (abandoned).
Hadith 87
نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَتْحِ الْقَلانِسِيُّ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ سَعِيدٍ الْبَزَّازُ ، نا عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَعْشَمُ ، نا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يُتَوَضَّأَ بِالْمَاءِ الْمُشَمَّسِ أَوْ يُغْتَسَلَ بِهِ ، وَقَالَ : إِنَّهُ يُورِثُ الْبَرَصَ " . عَمْرُو بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الأَعْشَمُ مُنْكَرُ الْحَدِيثِ ، وَلَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ فُلَيْحٍ غَيْرُهُ ، وَلا يَصِحُّ عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ.
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade performing ablution with water that has been left in the sun, or bathing with it. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As a result of this, leukoderma (vitiligo) may occur." The narrator of this narration, Umar bin Muhammad Asam, is considered unreliable in hadith. No one else besides him has narrated this from Faleeh, and regarding its attribution to Zuhri, this hadith is not authentic.
Hadith 88
نا نا أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْحَرْبِيِّ ، نا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ، نا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي صَفْوَانُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ حَسَّانَ بْنِ زَاهِرٍ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ ، قَالَ : " لا تَغْتَسِلُوا بِالْمَاءِ الْمُشَمَّسِ ، فَإِنَّهُ يُورِثُ الْبَرَصَ " .
Hassan bin Azhar narrates: Sayyiduna Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) said: "Do not perform ghusl (ritual bath) with water heated by the sun, because it may cause vitiligo (leucoderma)."
