حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ خَلادٍ ، ثنا الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عَبْدَةَ ، ثنا حَمَّادُ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، ثنا الْحَجَّاجُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ ، ذَكَرَ أَبَا عَمْرٍو الشَّيْبَانِيَّ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي رَبُّ هَذِهِ الدَّارِ ، يَعْنِي عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : سَأَلْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قُلْتُ : أَيُّ الأَعْمَالِ أَفْضَلُ ؟ قَالَ : " الصَّلاةُ لِمِيقَاتِهَا الأَوَّلِ " .
Abu Amr Shaibani narrates: The owner of this house told me this hadith, by which he meant Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). He says: I asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), I said: "Which deed is the most virtuous?" He replied: "To perform the prayer at its earliest time."
