حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاضِي أَبُو عُمَرَ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، ثنا مُسْلِمٌ ، ثنا دَاوُدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْقُرَشِيُّ ، ثنا مَالِكُ بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، قَالَ : صَعِدْتُ إِلَى ابْنِ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ فَوْقَ الْمَسْجِدِ الْحَرَامِ بَعْدَمَا أَذَّنَ ، فَقُلْتُ لَهُ أَخْبِرْنِي عَنْ أَذَانِ أَبِيكَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ يَبْدَأُ فَيُكَبِّرُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، حَيِّ عَلَى الصَّلاةِ ، حَيِّ عَلَى الْفَلاحِ مَرَّةً ، ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ فَيَقُولُ : أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، حَتَّى يَأْتِيَ عَلَى آخِرِ الأَذَانِ : اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ " . تَفَرَّدَ بِهِ دَاوُدُ.
Malik bin Dinar (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates: When the son of Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) finished giving the adhan, I also climbed up the minaret of Masjid al-Haram behind him and said to him: Tell me about the adhan which your father gave in the presence of the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him). He replied: At the beginning of the adhan, he said the takbir, then recited these words: "Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah, hayya 'ala as-salah, hayya 'ala al-falah." He recited these once, then again recited these words: "Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah, ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah." Until at the end of the adhan, he recited these words: "Allahu Akbar Allahu Akbar, la ilaha illallah." In narrating this tradition, Dawud (may Allah have mercy on him) is unique.
