حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ يُونُسَ ، ثنا الأَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، ثنا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي لَيْلَى ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ ، قَالَ : قَامَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ زَيْدٍ ، يَعْنِي إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي رَأَيْتُ فِي النَّوْمِ كَأَنَّ رَجُلا نزل مِنَ السَّمَاءِ عَلَيْهِ بُرْدَانِ أَخْضَرَانِ نزل عَلَى جِذْمِ حَائِطٍ مِنَ الْمَدِينَةِ ، فَأَذَّنَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ثُمَّ جَلَسَ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ فَقَالَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى ، قَالَ أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ : عَلَى نَحْوِ مِنْ أَذَانِنَا الْيَوْمَ ، قَالَ : " عَلِّمْهَا بِلالا " ، فَقَالَ عُمَرُ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ : قَدْ رَأَيْتُ مثل الَّذِي رَأَى وَلَكِنَّهُ سَبَقَنِي .
Abdur Rahman bin Abi Laila narrates: Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) reported this: An Ansari man, Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "O Messenger of Allah! I saw in a dream that a man descended from the sky, wearing two garments. He landed on a wall of Madinah. He recited the words of the adhan twice, then he sat down, then he stood up and recited those words twice each." The narrator named Abu Bakr bin Ayyash stated: This is just as the adhan is given nowadays. So the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Teach this to Bilal." Then Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "I also saw a dream similar to what he saw, but he preceded me in mentioning it."
