Hadith 933

حَدَّثَنَا الْقَاسِمُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ أَبُو عُبَيْدٍ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْحَارِثِ بْنِ صَالِحٍ الْمَخْزُومِيُّ ، ثنا يَحْيَى بْنُ خَالِدٍ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ بْنِ حَفْصٍ ، عَنْ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " نزل جَبْرَائِيلُ عَلَيْهِ السَّلامُ بِالإِقَامَةِ مُفْرَدًا ، وَسَنَّ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الأَذَانَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى " .
Imam Muhammad bin Ali narrates from his father the statement of Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): Jibreel (peace be upon him) descended with the words of Iqamah separately; the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prescribed reciting the words twice in the Adhan as Sunnah.
