حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، ثنا أَبُو حَاتِمٍ الرَّازِيُّ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي بَكْرٍ ، ثنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعْدَانَ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ حَيَّانَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي عُبَيْدٍ ، عَنْ سَلَمَةَ بْنِ الأَكْوَعِ ، قَالَ : " كَانَ الأَذَانُ عَلَى عَهْدِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَثْنَى مَثْنَى وَالإِقَامَةُ فَرْدًا " .
Sayyiduna Salamah bin Akwa’ (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: In the blessed time of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), the words of the adhan were pronounced twice and the words of the iqamah were pronounced once.
