حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، نا مِقْدَامُ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، ثنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مَعْبَدٍ ، ثنا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ أَبِي يَحْيَى الْكَعْبِيُّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ ، عَنْ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مُؤَذِّنٌ يُطْرِبُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الأَذَانُ سَمْحٌ سَهْلٌ فَإِنْ كَانَ أَذَانُكَ سَهْلا سَمْحًا وَإِلا فَلا تُؤَذِّنْ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) had a muezzin who used to call the adhan quickly, so the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The adhan is a way of gentleness and ease. If you are going to call the adhan with gentleness and ease, then fine, otherwise do not call it."
