حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، ثنا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَرْحُومُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزُّبَيْرِ مُؤَذِّنِ بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ ، قَالَ : جَاءَنَا عُمَرُ بْنُ الْخَطَّابِ ، فَقَالَ : " إِذَا أَذَّنْتَ فَتَرَسَّلْ وَإِذَا أَقَمْتَ فَاحْذِمْ " . رَوَاهُ الثَّوْرِيُّ ، وشُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ مَرْحُونٍ.
The muezzin of Bayt al-Maqdis, Abu Zubair, narrates: Sayyiduna Umar ibn Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) came to us and said: "When you give the adhan, do so deliberately and slowly; when you say the iqamah, say it quickly."
