Hadith 912

ثنا أَبُو عَمْرٍو عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَحْمَدَ الدَّقَّاقُ ، نا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْوَاسِطِيُّ ، ثنا أَبُو مَنْصُورٍ يَعْنِي الْحَارِثَ بْنَ مَنْصُورٍ ، ثنا عُمَرُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يَا أَبَا مَحْذُورَةَ ثَنِّ الأُولَى مِنَ الأَذَانِ مِنْ كُلِّ صَلاةٍ ، وَقُلْ فِي الأُولَى مِنْ صَلاةِ الْغَدَاةِ : الصَّلاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ " .
Abdul Malik (may Allah have mercy on him) narrates from his father that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "O Abu Mahdhurah! In every prayer's adhan, say the words twice, and in the adhan of the morning prayer, say: 'Prayer is better than sleep.'"
