نا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، نا أَبُو الأَزْهَرِ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ جُرَيْجٍ ، ثنا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ السَّائِبِ مَوْلًى لَهُمْ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ السَّائِبِ ، وَعَنْ أُمِّ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ ، أَنَّهُمَا سَمِعَاهُ مِنْ أَبِي مَحْذُورَةَ ، قَالا : قَالَ أَبُو مَحْذُورَةَ : خَرَجْتُ فِي عَشَرَةِ فِتْيَانٍ مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى حُنَيْنٍ وَهُوَ أَبْغَضُ النَّاسِ إِلَيْنَا ، فَقُمْنَا نُؤَذِّنُ نَسْتَهْزِئُ بِهِمْ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ائْتُونِي بِهَؤُلاءِ الْفِتْيَانِ ، فَقَالَ : أَذِّنُوا " ، فَأَذَّنُوا فَكُنْتُ آخِرَهُمْ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " نَعَمْ ، هَذَا الَّذِي سَمِعْتُ صَوْتَهُ اذْهَبْ فَأَذِّنْ لأَهْلِ مَكَّةَ وَقُلْ لِعَتَّابِ بْنِ أَسِيدٍ : أَمَرَنِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ أَذِّنْ لأَهْلِ مَكَّةَ ، وَمَسَحَ عَلَى نَاصِيَتِي ، وَقَالَ : قُلِ : اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ، مَرَّتَيْنِ ثُمَّ ارْجِعْ ، وَأَشْهِدْ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، أَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، حَيَّ عَلَى الصَّلاةِ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، حَيَّ عَلَى الْفَلاحِ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، اللَّهُ أَكْبَرُ ، لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ ، فَإِذَا أَذَّنْتَ بِالأُولَى مِنَ الصُّبْحِ ، فَقُلِ : الصَّلاةُ خَيْرٌ مِنَ النَّوْمِ مَرَّتَيْنِ ، وَإِذَا أَقَمْتَ فَقُلْهَا مَرَّتَيْنِ : قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلاةُ قَدْ قَامَتِ الصَّلاةُ ، أَسَمِعْتَ ؟ " ، قَالَ : فَكَانَ أَبُو مَحْذُورَةَ لا يَجُزُّ نَاصِيَتَهُ وَلا يَفْرِقُهَا ، لأَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَسَحَ عَلَيْهَا.
Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I set out with ten youths along with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) for Hunayn. At that time, he was the most disliked person to us. We stood up and began to call the adhan, mocking him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Bring these youths to me." Then he said: "You all give the adhan!" They gave the adhan. He said: "Yes! This is the person whose adhan I heard. Go and give the adhan for the people of Makkah. Tell ‘Atab that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) has ordered that I give the adhan for the people of Makkah." Then he passed his hand over my forehead and said: "Say: Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah, Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah." These words are to be said twice. "Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, Ashhadu an la ilaha illallah, Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah, Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Rasulullah, Hayya ‘ala-s-Salah, Hayya ‘ala-s-Salah, Hayya ‘ala-l-Falah, Hayya ‘ala-l-Falah, Allahu Akbar, Allahu Akbar, La ilaha illallah." When you give the first adhan of the morning, say: "As-salatu khayrun min an-nawm, as-salatu khayrun min an-nawm." When you say the iqamah, say these words twice: "Qad qamatis salah, qad qamatis salah." Have you heard this? The narrator states: Sayyiduna Abu Mahdhurah (may Allah be pleased with him) would not cut the hair of his forehead nor part it, because the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had passed his hand over it.
