بَابُ الصَّلَوَاتِ الْفَرَائِضِ وَأَنَّهُنَّ خَمْسٌChapter on the obligatory prayers and that they are five

نا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، ثنا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ ، نا نُوحُ بْنُ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ خَالِدِ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَجُلٌ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : كَمِ افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ مِنَ الصَّلَوَاتِ ؟ قَالَ : " خَمْسُ صَلَوَاتٍ " ، قَالَ : هَلْ قَبْلَهُنَّ أَوْ بَعْدَهُنَّ شَيْءٌ ؟ فَقَالَ : " افْتَرَضَ اللَّهُ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ صَلَوَاتٍ خَمْسًا " ، فَحَلَفَ الرَّجُلُ بِاللَّهِ لا يَزِيدُ عَلَيْهِنَّ شَيْئًا وَلا يَنْقُصُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنْ صَدَقَ دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ " .
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: A man asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): “How many prayers has Allah made obligatory upon His servants?” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Five prayers.” He asked: “Is there any obligatory prayer before or after these?” The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah the Exalted has made five prayers obligatory upon His servants.” So that man swore by the name of Allah that he would neither add to them nor decrease from them. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “If he is speaking the truth, he will enter Paradise.”
