Hadith 872

حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَزَّازُ ، ثنا بِشْرُ بْنُ مَطَرٍ ، نا سُفْيَانُ بْنُ عُيَيْنَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، حَدَّثَنِي آلُ جَرْهَدٍ ، عَنْ جَرْهَدٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَرَّ بِهِ وَهُوَ فِي الْمَسْجِدِ وَعَلَيْهِ بُرْدَةٌ قَدِ انْكَشَفَتْ فَخِذُهُ ، فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ الْفَخِذَ عَوْرَةٌ " .
Sayyiduna Jarhad (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) passed by him. He was in the mosque at that time. He was wearing a sheet in which his thigh was exposed. The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The thigh is part of the area that must be covered."
