Abdullah bin Abu Malikah reports: It was asked from Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) about women in postnatal bleeding, so she said: It was asked from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), so he said: "She will remain (in that state) for forty days, then after performing ghusl and becoming pure, she should start offering prayers." The narrator of this narration, Ata, is abandoned in hadith.
