Hadith 852

حَدَّثَنَا يَزْدَادُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، ثنا أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الأَشَجُّ ، ثنا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمُحَارِبِيُّ ، عَنْ سَلامِ بْنِ سَلْمٍ ، عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَقْتُ النِّفَاسِ أَرْبَعُونَ يَوْمًا إِلا أَنْ تَرَى الطُّهْرَ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ " . لَمْ يَرْوِهِ عَنْ حُمَيْدٍ غَيْرُ سَلامٍ هَذَا ، وَهُوَ سَلامٌ الطَّوِيلُ ، وَهُوَ ضَعِيفُ الْحَدِيثِ.
Sayyiduna Anas (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The maximum duration of postnatal bleeding is forty days, but if a woman attains purity before that (the ruling will be different)." This narration has only been transmitted by the narrator Salam from the narrator Humaid. This Salam is lengthy and is weak in hadith.
