Hadith 844

حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُبَشِّرٍ ، نا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، نا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ صَخْرِ بْنِ جُوَيْرِيَةَ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، أنَّهُ حَدَّثَهُ رَجُلٌ ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ زَوْجِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّ امْرَأَةً كَانَتْ تُهَرَاقُ دَمًا لا يَفْتُرُ عَنْهَا ، فَسَأَلَتْ أُمُّ سَلَمَةَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " لِتَنْظُرْ عَدَدَ الأَيَّامِ وَاللَّيَالِي الَّتِي كَانَتْ تَحِيضُ قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ وَعَدَّدَهُنَّ فَلْتَتْرُكِ الصَّلاةَ قَدْرَ ذَلِكَ ، ثُمَّ إِذَا حَضَرَتِ الصَّلاةُ فَلْتَغْتَسِلْ وَتَسْتَثْفِرْ بِثَوْبٍ وَتُصَلِّي " .
Lady Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: There was a woman whose blood flowed excessively and would not stop. Umm Salamah asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about her, so he said: "That woman should observe the days in which she previously used to have her menstruation. She should refrain from prayer for those days. Then, when the time for prayer comes, she should perform ablution, tie a cloth (to prevent the blood), and perform the prayer."
