Hadith 822

حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ الْعَطَّارُ ، أنا وَكِيعٌ . ح وَحَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، ثنا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ دَاوُدَ ، جَمِيعًا عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : جَاءَتْ فَاطِمَةُ بِنْتُ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي امْرَأَةٌ أُسْتَحَاضُ فَلا أَطْهُرُ أَفَأَدَعُ الصَّلاةَ ، فَقَالَ : " دَعِي الصَّلاةَ أَيَّامَ إِقْرَائِكِ ، ثُمَّ اغْتَسِلِي وَصَلِّي ، وَإِنْ قَطَرَ الدَّمُ عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ " ، وَقَالَ غَيْرُهُ ، عَنْ وَكِيعٍ : " وَتَوَضَّئِي لِكُلِّ صَلاةٍ " .
Sayyida Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: "O Messenger of Allah! I am suffering from istihada (non-menstrual bleeding). I do not become pure. Should I stop performing prayers?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Abandon the prayer during the days of your menstruation. After that, perform ghusl and start praying, even if drops of blood fall onto the mat." In another narration, these words are mentioned: "Perform wudu for every prayer."
