Hadith 820

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نا الْعَلاءُ بْنُ سَالِمٍ ، نا قُرَّةُ بْنُ عِيسَى ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، قَالَتْ : " جَاءَتِ امْرَأَةٌ مِنَ الأَنْصَارِ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنِّي أُسْتَحَاضُ ، فَأَمَرَهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ تَعْتَزِلَ الصَّلاةَ أَيَّامَ حَيْضَتِهَا ، ثُمَّ تَغْتَسِلُ وَتَتَوَضَّأُ لِكُلِّ صَلاةٍ وَتُصَلِّي وَإِنْ قَطَرَ الدَّمُ عَلَى الْحَصِيرِ " .
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: An Ansari woman came to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). She said: "O Messenger of Allah! I am suffering from Istihada (non-menstrual bleeding)." So the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) instructed her: "She should not perform prayer during her specific days of menstruation. Then after that, she should take a bath and perform ablution for every prayer and offer the prayer, even if drops of blood are falling onto the mat."
