Hadith 790

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُبَشِّرٍ ، ثنا أَبُو مُوسَى ، ثنا ابْنُ عَدِيٍّ ، بِهَذَا إِمْلاءً مِنْ كِتَابِهِ ، ثُمَّ حَدَّثَنَا بِهِ بَعْدُ حِفْظًا ، نا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ ، أَنَّ فَاطِمَةَ بِنْتَ أَبِي حُبَيْشٍ كَانَتْ تُسْتَحَاضُ ، قَالَتْ : فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّ دَمَ الْحَيْضِ أَسْوَدُ يُعْرَفُ ، فَإِذَا كَانَ ذَلِكَ فَأَمْسِكِي عَنِ الصَّلاةِ ، وَإِذَا كَانَ الآخَرُ فَتَوَضَّئِي وَصَلِّي " .
Sayyidah Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: Fatimah bint Abi Hubaysh was suffering from istihada (non-menstrual bleeding). The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "The blood of menstruation is black and recognizable. When it is that, then leave the prayer, and when it is of another color, then perform ablution and offer the prayer."
