بَابٌ فِي مَاءِ الْبَحْرِChapter on Sea Water

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُوسَى بْنِ مُجَاهِدٍ ، نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ رَاشِدٍ ، نا سُرَيْجُ بْنُ النُّعْمَانِ ، نا حَمَّادُ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي التَّيَّاحِ ، نا مُوسَى بْنُ سَلَمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُمَا ، قَالَ : سُئِلَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ مَاءِ الْبَحْرِ ، فَقَالَ : " مَاءُ الْبَحْرِ طَهُورٌ " . كَذَا قَالَ : وَالصَّوَابُ مَوْقُوفٌ.
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) was asked about the water of the sea, so he said: "The water of the sea is pure." The narrators have transmitted it in this way; however, the correct view is: this narration is "Mawquf" (stopped at the Companion).
