Kharijah bin Salat narrates from his uncle that he went to the service of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and then as he was returning from the Prophet’s presence, he passed by some people. He saw that those people had a madman with them. He recited Surah Al-Fatihah over him as a ruqyah, and the man was cured. They gave him one hundred sheep. He says: I went to the Prophet (peace be upon him) and informed him, so the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked: “Did you recite this Surah (Al-Fatihah)?” He replied: Yes! The Prophet (peace be upon him) said: “Then take it. By my life! Whoever eats from false ruqyah, it is wrong, but you have eaten from a true ruqyah.”
