بَابُ الْأَكْلِ مِنْ آنِيَةِ الْمُشْرِكِينَChapter on eating from the vessels of polytheists
Hadith 4809

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ مُبَشِّرٍ ، نَا أَبُو الأَشْعَثِ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ هِشَامِ بْنِ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، أَنَّ قَوْمًا قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، " إِنَّ قَوْمًا يَأْتُونَا بِاللَّحْمِ لا نَدْرِي أَذَكَرُوا اسْمَ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِ أَمْ لا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : سَمُّوا عَلَيْهِ وَكُلُوا " .
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates that some people said: O Messenger of Allah! Some people bring us meat after slaughtering, and at that time we do not know whether they mentioned the name of Allah while slaughtering it or not. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You people should mention the name of Allah and eat it."
