حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي رَحِمَهُ اللَّهُ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، نَا أَبُو كَامِلٍ ، نَا الْحَارِثُ بْنُ نَبْهَانَ ، نَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ يَقْظَانَ ، عَنِ الشَّعْبِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَحَى ذَبْحُ الأَضَاحِيِّ كُلَّ ذَبْحٍ كَانَ قَبْلَهُ ، وَذَكَرَ صَوْمَ رَمَضَانَ ، وَالزَّكَاةَ ، وَالْغُسْلَ مِنَ الْجَنَابَةِ بِمِثْلِ ذَلِكَ " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The command of sacrifice has abrogated every slaughter that was before it." Then he mentioned the fasts of Ramadan, giving of zakat, and the ritual bath after major impurity, and said the same regarding them.
