Hadith 4735

نَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَزَّازُ ، نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُسْلِمٍ ، نَا أَبُو يُوسُفَ الْقَاضِي ، نَا مُجَالِدُ بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْوَدَّاكِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، سُئِلَ " عَنِ الْجَزُورِ ، وَالْبَقَرَةِ يُوجَدُ الْجَنِينُ فِي بَطْنِهَا ، فَقَالَ : إِذَا سَمَّيْتُمْ عَلَى الذَّبِيحَةِ فَذَكَاتُهُ ذَكَاةُ أُمِّهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates regarding the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): It was asked of him about a she-camel or a cow that has a fetus in its womb. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you slaughter the mother and mention Allah's name at the time of slaughter, then slaughtering the mother will be considered as slaughtering the fetus inside her as well."
