Hadith 4728

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَيُّوبَ ، نَا خَلَفُ بْنُ خَلِيفَةَ ، عَنْ حُصَيْنٍ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، " فِي قَوْلِ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : أُحِلَّ لَكُمْ صَيْدُ الْبَحْرِ وَطَعَامُهُ سورة المائدة آية 96 ، أَلا إِنَّ صَيْدَهُ مَا صِيدَ ، وَطَعَامُهُ مَا لَفَظَ الْبَحْرُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), regarding the statement of Allah Almighty: "The game of the sea and its food have been made lawful for you," Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) says: By "game" is meant that which is hunted, and by "food" is meant that which the sea throws out.
