It is narrated about Abdur Rahman bin Abu Hurairah that he asked Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them): Should I eat the fish that starts floating on the water (after dying)? So Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them) replied: The fish floating in the water is considered dead. He stated that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Its (the sea's) water is pure and its dead (creature) is lawful."
