Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that once we participated in a battle, and we felt hungry, to the extent that we divided one or two dates among ourselves. Then we reached the seashore, and the sea threw out a large dead fish. People took pieces of its meat and fat as they liked; it was an example (the narrator says): I came to know that when those people presented themselves before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him about it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you have any part of it?" Nafi' narrates that when those people presented themselves before the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) and informed him about it, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked: "Do you have any part of it?" The people replied: Yes! The people presented it to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he ate from it.
