نَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ أَحْمَدَ بْنِ عِيسَى الْبَزَّازُ ، نَا عُمَرُ بْنُ شَبَّةَ ، نَا عُمَرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمُقَدَّمِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ ، عَنِ الْمُطَّلِبِ بْنِ أَبِي وَدَاعَةَ السَّهْمِيِّ ، قَالَ : طَافَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِالْبَيْتِ فِي يَوْمٍ قَائِظٍ شَدِيدِ الْحَرِّ ، فَاسْتَسْقَى رَهْطًا مِنْ قُرَيْشٍ ، فَقَالَ : " هَلْ عِنْدَ أَحَدٍ مِنْكُمْ شَرَابٌ فَيُرْسِلُ إِلَيَّ ؟ ، فَأَرْسَلَ رَجُلٌ مِنْهُمْ إِلَى مَنْزِلِهِ ، فَجَاءَتْ جَارِيَةٌ مَعَهَا إِنَاءٌ فِيهِ نَبِيذُ زَبِيبٍ ، فَلَمَّا رَآهَا النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : أَلا خَمَّرْتِهِ وَلَوْ بِعُودٍ تَعْرُضُهُ عَلَيْهِ، فَلَمَّا أَدْنَى الإِنَاءَ مِنْهُ وَجَدَ لَهُ رَائِحَةً شَدِيدَةً ، فَقَطَّبَ وَرَدَّ الإِنَاءَ ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنْ يَكُنْ حَرَامًا لَمْ تَشْرَبْهُ فَاسْتَعَادَ الإِنَاءَ وَصَنَعَ مثل ذَلِكَ ، فَقَالَ الرَّجُلُ مثل ذَلِكَ ، فَدَعَا بِدَلْوٍ مِنْ مَاءِ زَمْزَمَ فَصَبَّهُ عَلَى الإِنَاءِ ، وَقَالَ : إِذَا اشْتَدَّ عَلَيْكُمْ شَرَابَكُمْ فَاصْنَعُوا بِهِ هَكَذَا " ، الْكَلْبِيُّ مَتْرُوكٌ ، وَأَبُو صَالِحٍ ، ضَعِيفٌ ، وَاسْمُهُ بَاذَانُ مَوْلَى أُمِّ هَانِئٍ.
Sayyiduna Mutlib bin Abu Wada’ah Sahmi (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that on a very hot day, the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) performed Tawaf of the Ka’bah. He asked some people of Quraysh for water to drink. He said: “Do you have any drink? If so, send it to my house.” So one of them sent it to his house. A slave girl came, and she had a vessel in which there was nabidh (a drink made from soaked raisins). When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw it, he asked: “Why did you not cover it? Even if you had covered it with a piece of wood.” When she brought the vessel near him, he noticed a strong smell coming from it, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned it. That person said: O Messenger of Allah! If it is forbidden, then do not drink it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had the vessel brought again and did the same as before. That person again said the same thing, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a bucket of Zamzam water brought and poured it into that vessel and said: “When your drink becomes strong (fermented), then do this with it.”
