قُرِئَ عَلَى عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، وَأَنَا أَسْمَعُ ، حَدَّثَكُمْ مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ . ح وَنا عَلِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنِ حَمَّادٍ الْقَاضِي ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ إِسْرَائِيلَ أَبُو عُثْمَانَ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ، نَا مَنْصُورُ بْنُ أَبِي مُزَاحِمٍ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ حَمْزَةَ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ وَاقِدٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي قَزَعَةُ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : " انْتَبَذَتْ نَبِيذًا فِي دُبَّاءٍ تُحْفَةً أَتْحِفُ بِهَا النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي يَوْمٍ كَانَ يَصُومُهُ ، فَلَمَّا كَانَ عِنْدَ فِطْرِهِ جِئْتُهُ بِهَا أَحْمِلُهَا ، فَقَالَ : مَا هَذِهِ يَا أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ؟ ، قُلْتُ : بِأَبِي أَنْتَ وَأُمِّي يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ نَبِيذٌ انْتَبَذْتُهُ لَكَ عَرَفْتُ أَنَّكَ تَصُومُ يَوْمَكَ هَذَا فَأَحْبَبْتُ أَنْ تُصِيبَ مِنْهُ ، فَقَالَ : ادْنُهَا مِنِّي ، فَلَمَّا نَظَرَ إِلَيْهِ يَنَسَ ، قَالَ : اضْرِبْ بِهَذَا الْحَائِطَ ، فَإِنَّمَا يَشْرَبُ هَذَا ، مَنْ لا يُؤْمِنُ بِاللَّهِ وَالْيَوْمِ الآخِرِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: I prepared nabidh (a drink made from dates or raisins) in a special vessel called daba’, so that I could present it as a gift to the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day when he was fasting. When it was time for iftar, I picked it up and brought it to him. He asked: “O Abu Hurairah! What is this?” I replied: “O Messenger of Allah! May my parents be sacrificed for you, this is nabidh which I have prepared for you. I knew you would be fasting today, so I wished that you would use it.” The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Bring it close to me.” When the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) examined it, it had started to ferment. He said: “Throw it against that wall, for only he will drink it who does not believe in Allah and the Last Day.”
