Hadith 4612

حَدَّثَنِي مُوسَى بْنُ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ قَرِينٍ ، نَا بَكْرُ بْنُ سَهْلٍ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يُوسُفَ ، نَا ابْنُ لَهِيعَةَ ، نَا أَبُو صَخْرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ أَبِي أُمَيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ أَبِي رَبَاحٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " الْخَمْرُ أُمُّ الْفَوَاحِشِ ، وَأَكْبَرُ الْكَبَائِرِ ، مَنْ شَرِبَهَا وَقَعَ عَلَى أُمِّهِ ، وَعَمَّتِهِ ، وَخَالَتِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: "Alcohol is the root of evils and the greatest sin. Whoever drinks it, (in a state of intoxication) he may violate the honor of his mother, his paternal aunt, and his maternal aunt."
