حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرٍ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، وَأَبُو عُمَرَ الْقَاضِي ، قَالا : نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ أَشْكَابٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ رَبِيعَةَ ، نَا الْحَكَمُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، نَا ابْنُ أَبِي نُعْمٍ ، عَنِ الْوَلِيدِ بْنِ عُبَادَةَ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْعَاصِ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " الْخَمْرُ أُمُّ الْخَبَائِثِ وَمَنْ شَرِبَهَا لَمْ يَقْبَلِ اللَّهُ مِنْهُ صَلاةً أَرْبَعِينَ يَوْمًا ، فَإِنْ مَاتَ وَهِيَ فِي بَطْنِهِ مَاتَ مَيْتَةً جَاهِلِيَّةً " . وَاللَّفْظُ لأَبِي عُمَرَ الْقَاضِي .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Amr bin al-As (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Alcohol is the mother of all evils (the root of all corruption). Whoever drinks it, Allah Almighty will not accept his prayer for forty days, and if he dies in such a state that it is present in his stomach, then that person has died the death of the days of ignorance."
