Hassan bin Thamamah narrates that once Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) recognized his camel which had been stolen. He took the case to the judge of the Muslims, and according to the judicial decision, Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) had to take an oath. So he announced compensation for his oath: "I will give you ten dirhams." He refused. He said, "I will give you twenty dirhams." He refused. He said, "I will give you thirty dirhams." He refused. He said, "I will give you forty dirhams." He refused. Then Sayyiduna Hudhayfah (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "Leave my camel for me." Then he took an oath that this was his camel, which he had neither sold nor gifted to anyone.
