حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ حَمْدَوَيْهِ الْمَرْوَزِيُّ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ حَمَّادِ الأَيْلِيُّ ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، نَا اللَّيْثُ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ الْحَارِثِ ، عَنْ تَوْبَةَ بْنِ نَمِرٍ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرٍ الدِّمَشْقِيِّ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، قَالَ : " أَعْتَقَ رَجُلٌ سِتَّةَ أَرْؤُسٍ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ مَالٌ غَيْرُهُمْ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَتَغَيَّظَ عَلَيْهِ ثُمَّ أَسْهَمَ عَلَيْهِمْ فَأَخْرَجَ ثُلُثَهُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Umamah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that a man freed six slaves, and he had no wealth other than those slaves. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was informed about this, and he became very angry with him. Then the Prophet divided them into shares and gave him one third (i.e., freed two slaves).
