[ بَابُ إِحْيَاءِ الْمَوَاتِChapter on reviving dead land

حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ نَاجِيَةَ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي سَمِينَةَ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَحْيَى بْنِ قَيْسٍ الْمَأْرَبِيُّ ، عَنْ ثُمَامَةَ بْنِ شَرَاحِيلَ ، عَنْ سُمَيِّ بْنِ قَيْسٍ ، عَنْ شُمَيْرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبْيَضَ بْنِ حَمَّالٍ ، قَالَ : " وَفَدْتُ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَاسْتَقْطَعْتُهُ الْمِلْحَ ، فَقَطَعَهُ لِي ، فَلَمَّا وَلَّيْتُ قَالَ رَجُلٌ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَتَدْرِي مَا أَقْطَعْتَهُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّمَا أَقْطَعْتَهُ الْمَاءَ الْعِدَّ ، فَرَجَعَ فِيهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abyad bin Hamaal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that I submitted to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): I have requested from you the place called "Milh," and you have granted it to me. When I got up from there to return, a person submitted: O Messenger of Allah! Do you know what place you have given to him? You have given him flowing water. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) took that place back from him.
