نَا ابْنُ مَخْلَدٍ ، نَا عَبَّاسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ ، نَا شَبَابَةُ ، نَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، " قَضَى بِشَهَادَةِ شَاهِدٍ وَاحِدٍ وَيَمِينِ صَاحِبِ الْحَقِّ، وَقَضَى بِهِ عَلِيٌّ بِالْعِرَاقِ " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave a verdict based on the testimony of one person and the oath of the rightful claimant. The narrator says that Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) also gave such a verdict in Iraq.
