Amr bin Salim narrates that Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Zaid (may Allah be pleased with him), who was taught the method of giving the adhan in a dream, gave one of his gardens in charity. He presented himself before the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: “I have given this garden of mine in charity; it is a vow for Allah and His Messenger.” Then his parents came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). Both of them said that their livelihood depended solely on that garden. So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) returned the garden to his parents. Then, when those parents passed away, it was inherited by their heirs.
