Hadith 4435

نَا أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، نَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ الْمُثَنَّى ، نَا أَبُو مُسْلِمٍ الْمُسْتَمْلِي . ح وَنا أَبُو سَهْلِ بْنُ زِيَادٍ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْمَعْمَرِيُّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ مُحَمَّدَ بْنَ الصَّبَّاحِ ، قَالا : نَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُمَرَ الْعُمَرِيُّ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ ، أَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، وَقَدْ كَانَ مَلَكَ مِائَةَ سَهْمٍ مِنْ خَيْبَرَ فَاشْتَرَاهَا حَتَّى اسْتَخْلَصَهَا فَأَتَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " قَدْ أَصَبْتُ شَيْئًا لَمْ أُصِبْ مِثْلَهُ ، وَقَدْ أَرَدْتُ أَنْ أَتَقَرَّبَ بِهِ إِلَى اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، قَالَ : فَاحْتَبِسِ الأَصْلَ وَسَبِّلِ الثَّمَرَ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), he had received one hundred shares in Khaybar, he bought land with it and gathered them together, then he came to the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and said: "I have obtained such a thing that I have never obtained anything like it before, and I wish to attain nearness to Allah through it." So the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Keep the original land with you and give its produce in the way of Allah."
