بَابُ حُكْمِ الْمَاءِ إِذَا لَاقَتْهُ النَّجَاسَةُRuling on Water When It Comes in Contact with Impurity

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ زِيَادٍ ، نا إِبْرَاهِيمُ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ الْحَرْبِيُّ ، نا هَارُونُ بْنُ مَعْرُوفٍ ، نا بِشْرُ بْنُ السَّرِيِّ ، عَنِ ابْنِ لَهِيعَةَ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا كَانَ الْمَاءُ قَدْرَ أَرْبَعِينَ قُلَّةً لَمْ يَحْمِلْ خَبَثًا " . كَذَا قَالَ : وَخَالَفَهُ غَيْرُ وَاحِدٍ رَوَوْهُ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، فَقَالُوا : " أَرْبَعِينَ غَرْبًا " ، وَمِنْهُمْ مَنْ قَالَ : " أَرْبَعُونَ دَلْوًا " ، سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ سِنَانٍ ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، وَأَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ ، كَذَا ذَكَرَهُ الْبُخَارِيُّ.
Abdur Rahman bin Abu Hurairah narrates from his father (Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him), who said: "When water reaches the amount of forty qullahs, it does not become impure." The same narration is also transmitted from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, with some other chains of transmission. In some narrations, the words "forty large buckets" are used, and in some narrations, the words "forty small buckets" are used (i.e., these words are used in place of "qullah").
