Hadith 4317

حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو حَفْصٍ عُمَرُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيِّبِ النَّيْسَابُورِيُّ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ رَوْحٍ الْمَدَائِنِيُّ ، نَا سَلامُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْفَضْلِ بْنِ عَطِيَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ بْنِ رُفَيْعٍ ، عَنْ تَمِيمِ بْنِ طَرَفَةَ ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ حَاتِمٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " النَّذْرُ نَذْرَانِ ، فَمَنْ نَذَرَ نَذْرًا لِلَّهِ فَلْيَفِ بِهِ ، وَمَنْ نَذَرَ نَذْرًا فِي مَعْصِيَةِ اللَّهِ ، فَكَفَّارَتُهُ كَفَّارَةُ يَمِينٍ " .
Sayyiduna ‘Adi bin Hatim (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “There are two types of vows. So whoever makes a vow for the sake of Allah, let him fulfill it, and whoever makes a vow concerning disobedience to Allah, its expiation is the same as the expiation for breaking an oath.”
