أَحْكَامِ الْوَصَايَاRulings of bequests
Hadith 4303

حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُحَمَّدِ بْنُ صَاعِدٍ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ زُنْبُورٍ ، نَا فُضَيْلُ بْنُ عِيَاضٍ ، عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ سِيرِينَ ، عَنْ أَنَسِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، قَالَ : " كَانُوا يَكْتُبُونَ فِي صُدُورِ وَصَايَاهُمْ : هَذَا مَا أَوْصَى فُلانُ بْنُ فُلانٍ ، أَوْصَى أَنْ يَشْهَدَ أَنْ لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ ، وَأَنَّ السَّاعَةَ آتِيَةٌ لا رَيْبَ فِيهَا ، وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ يَبْعَثُ مَنْ فِي الْقُبُورِ ، وَأَوْصَى مَنْ تَرَكَ بَعْدَهُ مِنْ أَهْلِهِ أَنْ يَتَّقُوا اللَّهَ حَقَّ تُقَاتِهِ ، وَأَنْ يُصْلِحُوا ذَاتَ بَيْنِهِمْ ، وَيُطِيعُوا اللَّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ إِنَّ كَانُوا مُؤْمِنِينَ ، وَأَوْصَاهُمْ بِمَا أَوْصَى بِهِ إِبْرَاهِيمُ بَنِيهِ وَيَعْقُوبُ يَا بَنِيَّ إِنَّ اللَّهَ اصْطَفَى لَكُمُ الدِّينَ فَلا تَمُوتُنَّ إِلا وَأَنْتُمْ مُسْلِمُونَ " .
Sayyiduna Anas bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: The people before us used to write at the beginning of their will: This is the will that so-and-so, son of so-and-so, has made. He bears witness that there is no deity except Allah, He is One, He has no partner, Muhammad (peace be upon him) is His special servant and His Messenger, the Hour (Day of Judgment) is coming, there is no doubt about it, and Allah will resurrect all those who are in the graves. Then he would advise his heirs to fear Allah and to deal with each other in reconciliation, to obey Allah and His Messenger if they are believers, and he would make the same bequest to them that Sayyiduna Ibrahim (peace be upon him) made to his sons: “O my sons! Indeed, Allah has chosen for you the religion, so do not die except as Muslims.”
