Hadith 4290

نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، نَا دَاوُدُ بْنُ رُشَيْدٍ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عُلَيَّةَ . ح وَنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ الْمُعَلَّى الشُّونِيزِيُّ ، نَا مَحْمُودُ بْنُ خِدَاشٍ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، نَا أَيُّوبُ ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " مَا حَقُّ امْرِئٍ يَبِيتُ لَيْلَتَيْنِ وَلَهُ مَالٌ يُرِيدُ أَنْ يُوصِيَ فِيهِ ، إِلا وَوَصِيَّتُهُ مَكْتُوبَةٌ عِنْدَهُ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "No person has the right that he possesses any wealth regarding which he wishes to make a bequest, and then two nights pass (without him having written that bequest); his bequest should be written and kept with him."
