Hadith 4289

نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَنْصُورٍ الْفَقِيهُ ، نَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِنْتِ شُرَحْبِيلَ ، نَا إِسْمَاعِيلُ بْنُ عَيَّاشٍ ، نَا عُتْبَةُ بْنُ حُمَيْدٍ ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ ، عَنْ أَبِي أُمَامَةَ ، عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قَدْ تَصَدَّقَ عَلَيْكُمْ بِثُلُثِ أَمْوَالِكُمْ عِنْدَ وَفَاتِكُمْ زِيَادَةً فِي حَسَنَاتِكُمْ ، لِيَجْعَلَهَا لَكُمْ زَكَاةً فِي أَعْمَالِكُمْ " .
Sayyiduna Mu'adh bin Jabal (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates this statement of the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): "Allah Almighty has granted you one third of your wealth as charity near death, so that you may increase your good deeds, so that it may become a means of purification in your actions."
