Hadith 4286

نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ الْمِصْرِيُّ ، نَا يَحْيَى بْنُ عُثْمَانَ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، نَا نُعَيْمٌ ، نَا رِشْدِينُ ، نَا عَقِيلٌ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، عَنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، قَالَ : " نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ نُقَاتِلَ عَنْ أَحَدٍ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ ، إِلا عَنْ أَهْلِ الذِّمَّةِ " .
Sayyiduna Zubair (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade us from fighting on behalf of the polytheists, but we may fight on behalf of the people under protection (Ahl al-Dhimma).
