نَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نَا الصَّغَانِيُّ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ أَبِي الطَّيِّبِ ، نَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي الزَّاهِرِيَّةِ ، وَرَاشِدِ بْنِ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهَا ، قَالَتْ : " أَهْدَتْ لَهَا امْرَأَةٌ طَبَقًا فِيهِ تَمْرٌ فَأَكَلْتُ مِنْهُ عَائِشَةُ ، وَأَلْقَتْ مِنْهُ تَمَرَاتٍ ، فَقَالَتِ الْمَرْأَةُ : أَقْسَمْتُ عَلَيْكِ إِلا أَكَلْتِيهِ كُلَّهُ ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : بِرِّيهَا ، فَإِنَّ الإِثْمَ عَلَى الْمُحَنِّثِ " .
Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrates: A woman sent her a tray in which there were dates. Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) ate some of the dates and left some. The woman said: I make you swear that you will eat all of them. So the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Fulfill it, for the one who breaks an oath is sinful."
