نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ عِيسَى بْنِ السُّكَيْنِ الْبَلَدِيُّ ، نَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ يَحْيَى الرَّهَاوِيُّ ، وَأَبُو الْعَبَّاسِ الْمُخْتَارُ ، نَا عَبْدُ الْحَمِيدِ بْنُ أَبِي أُوَيْسٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي أَبُو أُوَيْسٍ ، عَنْ حُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " أَيُّمَا أَمَةٍ وَلَدَتْ مِنْ سَيِّدُهَا ، فَإِنَّهَا إِذَا مَاتَ حُرَّةٌ إِلا أَنْ يُعْتِقَهَا قَبْلَ مَوْتِهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When a slave woman gives birth to her master's child, then when that master dies, the slave woman becomes free; however, if the master frees her before his death (then the ruling will be different)." Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: When Sayyida Mariyah al-Qibtiyyah (may Allah be pleased with her) gave birth to the Noble Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) son, Sayyiduna Ibrahim (may Allah be pleased with him), the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Her child has set her free."
