Hadith 4224

نَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ قَحْطَبَةَ ، نَا يَعْقُوبُ الدَّوْرَقِيُّ ، نَا ابْنُ عُلَيَّةَ ، عَنْ سَعِيدٍ . ح وَنا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْبَزَّازُ ، نَا الْحَسَنُ بْنُ عَرَفَةَ ، نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ السَّهْمِيُّ ، نَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي عَرُوبَةَ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنِ النَّضْرِ بْنِ أَنَسٍ ، عَنْ بَشِيرِ بْنِ نَهِيكٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ أَعْتَقَ نَصِيبًا ، أَوْ شِقْصًا مِنْ مَمْلُوكِهِ ، فَخَلاصُ مَا بَقِيَ مِنْهُ عَلَيْهِ فِي مَالِهِ ، إِنْ كَانَ لَهُ مَالٌ ، وَإِلا قُوِّمَ الْمَمْلُوكُ قِيمَةَ عَدْلٍ ، فَاسْتُسْعِيَ فِيهَا غَيْرَ مَشْقُوقٍ عَلَيْهِ " .
Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Whoever frees his share in a slave, then the remaining share of that slave will also be freed from that person's wealth, if he possesses sufficient wealth. Otherwise, the slave will be appraised justly and then made to work for that amount, but he will not be subjected to hardship."
