Hadith 4216

نَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْعَزِيزِ ، نَا الْعَبَّاسُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ النَّرْسِيُّ ، نَا مُعَاذُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنِي أَبِي . ح وَنا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، نَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنْصُورٍ زَاجٌ ، نَا النَّضْرُ بْنُ شُمَيْلٍ ، نَا هِشَامٌ الدَّسْتُوَائِيُّ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " يُودِي الْمُكَاتَبُ بِقَدْرِ مَا عُتِقَ مِنْهُ دِيَةَ الْحُرِّ ، وَبِقَدْرِ مَا رُقَّ مِنْهُ دِيَةَ الْعَبْدِ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A person who has entered into a contract of emancipation (kitabah), for the portion in which he has become free, he will pay the blood money of a free person, and for the portion in which he remains a slave, he will pay the blood money of a slave."
